Early on much of American mainstream media was spreading false information warning that Sweden would be a cautionary tale because of the way it chose to handle the COVID outbreak. It comes as no surprise that American media was wrong, yet again. Sweden’s methods proved effective in the end, becoming one of the nations with the best COVID statistics in Europe and the world. Because of their decisions that were more adherent to factual scientific data, they were able to keep their numbers under control and statistically far better than that of the States. One of the main reasons American media outlets were very quiet about Sweden’s success is because that would entail eating proverbial crow; it indirectly exposes that much of the United States’ decisions and strategies were not rooted in real conclusive scientific data or necessary.
Unmasking the Truth
The elephant in the room and perhaps the main reason many American mainstream media outlets initially attacked Sweden’s coronavirus approach was because Sweden and many other Nordic countries chose not to mandate masks or implement lockdowns. Just like Holland and other Nordic nations, Sweden’s top doctors and scientists observed data and came to the conclusion that there was no evidence supporting masks as effective. In fact, they found the exact opposite to be true. Sweden learned that mandating masks is potentially more harmful than any good. Not only is there no conclusive evidence that masks slow the spread of COVID-19, masks may actually produce negative health concerns resulting from people wearing masks incorrectly, issues from people breathing in their own CO2 for extended periods of time, and from people inadvertently spreading more germs wearing reused masks. However, because America is desperately trying to habituate its own citizens to accept compulsory masks, some American media outlets went on a reactionary disinformation campaign against Sweden and other nations that decided not to mask up. Apparently, Sweden is unbothered.
So, with so much conflicting data summarily contradicting the need for masks or lockdowns, more powerful questions keep arising: Is the United States’ and the CDC’s obsession with mask enforcement really about slowing the spread of COVID-19? Or are these entities a little more concerned about the ability to get citizens to do as they’re told?
Strategies that Worked
In truth, Sweden handled the COVID-19 outbreak with a criticized but very logical approach. Consequently, they were better able to contain it. Sweden chose to isolate the problems where the problems truly existed. First was the realization that the virus was real and deadly, but the threat and lethality was being grossly exaggerated. For weeks there were very disingenuous full-blown media fear campaigns in almost every nation in the world. The knee-jerk panicking and grandstanding from politicians trying to appear proactive led to many over-the-top, impulsive decisions that were not necessarily backed by scientific evidence. So some nations, like Sweden, chose not to follow that pattern.
Sweden found COVID-19 to be 2 or 3 times deadlier than the flu. However, they found it was not large enough of a threat to warrant shutting down businesses or enforcing lockdowns like the United States had done. In many ways the fear mongering became worse than the virus itself. Sweden instead stopped “super spreader” events like concerts and large sporting events. Sweden also encouraged working from home and going out less but trusted public discretion and did not enforce lockdowns. They also did not stop school for children under 16 but implemented remote learning for students over 16.
Sweden also turned its attention toward the most at-risk groups like the poor with less resources, elderly and nursing facilities, rather than imposing broad-sweeping and unwarranted restrictions on its younger, healthy, “asymptomatic” citizens with resources. In the end Sweden has reduced its COVID numbers without the collateral damage other nations who did not reduce their numbers as impressively suffered. In a nutshell, and figuratively speaking, Sweden and other Nordic nations proved that you don’t have to kill a fly with a Gatling machine gun, when you can use a fly swatter.
The Reasons for American Confusion
Americans have become some of the most misled and propagandized citizens on the planet. Ironically, the ideology of American exceptionalism and the belief that somehow the US is getting the most accurate information above others may be part of what is keeping American citizens as misinformed as they currently are. In reality, however, US citizens are among the most inundated with false information on a daily basis from what they perceive to be “trusted sources”.
The corporatocracy, corruption and covert psyche wars on the populace are almost completely unrealized by the masses. For example, in the States anti-mask opinions are immediately deemed to be a Trump supporting position. And pro mask, pro lockdown opinions are usually coming from liberals. In truth the efficacy of masks or lockdowns have absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump or politics, nor should it. Without even realizing it many people’s beliefs and opinions are surreptitiously forged for them based on their political leanings. Unfortunately, this is how badly ensnared in Hegelian Dialectic mind control many American citizens currently are. As a result, it isn’t really because of the science why so many people are so divided about masks in the States, it’s largely because of the obstinate blind trust in media disinformation and because of politics.
COVID response should never have been a political issue. It is a fact that the CDC and WHO are insisting on mask mandates for every country in the world without peer-reviewed conclusive data. This is not an opinion. Initially we were told that masks are not effective, and we were emphatically told that all relevant studies reflected this. Then instantly in April 2020 there was a sudden about-face. After being told masks were not effective, we were then told masks are strongly recommended because they may help “flatten the curve”. Then that recommendation evolved yet again and quickly turned into a mandate—-but without any change in the data.
After the suspicious and sudden about-face on masks, in response several incensed US doctors and scientists went public arguing that masks weren’t effective or necessary, but they were very quickly silenced and discredited in the US media. Regardless, scientists from around the world, including Holland and Sweden’s top doctors and scientists conducted studies confirming masks as not effective. So beholden to factual scientific data, these nations did not force lockdowns or masks on their citizens.
Now because of these countries refusing mask mandates and improving their numbers, the Washington Examiner pointed out that the countries who did enforce mask mandates can no longer keep claiming masks as a reason for COVID number improvements if any.
We’ve entered an era in which people will need to survey the “new normal” environment and really ask themselves very hard questions. People will need to ask themselves if they believe what they believe because they truly know and understand the facts—-or is it rather a belief in what entities are telling them are the facts.
